Step 1: Register online.
Step 2: An AK Drive team member will contact you once the registration is received to confirm session date.
Step 3: Pay for session. An AK Drive team member will contact you by phone and email confirming your registration. You will complete permission paperwork at SERRC – 210 Ferry Way, Juneau AK 907-586-6806
Step 4: You will begin 30 credited hours of online course work and complete a final exam with an 80% or better. This course work should be complete or nearly completed before the face-to-face classroom session begins.
Step 5: You will attend a one-time face-to-face classroom session with a State Certified Instructor.
Step 6: Schedule driving sessions with the State Certified Instructor. Each driving session will be between 1-2 hours for a total of 8 hours. The instructor will meet you at either the SERRC office, JDHS or TMHS.
Step 7: When you meet all Alaska DMV testing requirements, schedule a test with your local DMV office. For students, the AK Drive vehicle is available to use for testing. There is an additional fee.
